California incentivizes the acquisition of EODev's GEH2®

Thanks to the California Air Resources Board, a public organization committed to helping industry customers adopt clean air power solutions, any acquisition of EODev's GEH2® low carbon electro-hydrogen power generators to replace diesel gensets under the Clean Off-Road Equipment program (CORE) is eligible to a subsidy that can reach up to USD175,000 !

The CORE program, launched by the California Air Resources Board in partnership with CALSTART, is designed to accelerate the transition to zero-emission off-road equipment in California. CARB's mission being to provide safe, clean air for all Californians, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and lead innovative approaches in air pollution control, it provides significant financial incentives to offset the costs of new zero-emission technology, making it easier and more affordable for businesses to adopt sustainable alternatives.

The CORE program as a game-changer

Supporting user access to new low or zero-emission off-grid power technologies that may be deemed expensive in comparison with traditional solutions, such as polluting diesel gensets, has now become a lot more affordable in California, a US State renowned for being at the forefront of environmentally friendly solutions and a leader in the fight against climate change.

As the CORE program offers cost-saving incentives for end users with substantial vouchers to significantly lower the initial investment in zero-emission equipment, any financial justification to stick to old ways is therefore clearly no longer valid — not that it was ever relevant. And the CORE initiative does not end there.

In addition to the initial subsidy, it is also possible to benefit from an extra USD30,000 voucher when combining the use of GEH2® with hydrogen refueling solutions or the installation of a high speed (over 50kW) charging station. Then, for small businesses defined as "having an annual revenue less than USD15 million per year and 100 employees or less", an additional 15% enhancement of the GEH2®’s base voucher amount is also applicable; and, last but not least, any GEH2® deployed in Disadvantaged and Low-Income Communities (DAC) is also eligible for a 10% enhancement of the base voucher amount.

California paving the way

With the GEH2® being currently the only fuel cell system eligible for this program, the CORE benefits provide a unique and immediate opportunity for those looking to invest in clean, efficient power solutions to: help reduce greenhouse gas emissions; contribute to cleaner air; gain access to cutting-edge technology that offers superior performance and reliability; stay ahead of regulations; and future-proof operations.
